MICRODERMABRASION

 Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure used to renew overall skin tone and texture. It can improve the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scarring, melasma, and other skin-related concerns and conditions.

In microdermabrasion, diamond rough head tool is used on the skin with suction to gently remove the outer layer of your skin. This technique is less aggressive than dermabrasion, so you don't need numbing medicine. It is basically an exfoliation and skin rejuvenation procedure that leaves skin looking softer and brighter.

Microdermabrasion can help improve the skin appearance by reducing fine lines, early sun damage, and mild, shallow acne marks. It is not useful for deep acne scars or deep wrinkles. Skin may become noticeably smoother even after one treatment and better absorb moisturizers.

Since skin typically regenerates at approximately 30-day intervals, skin improvement with microdermabrasion is temporary and needs to be repeated at average intervals of two to four weeks for continued improvement. Usually, multiple treatments (six to 12 sessions) are recommended to see a significant improvement.

AFTERCARE

 AVOID scratching or picking at the treatment area. DO NOT use any harsh chemicals, rub or tan your skin for at least one week following the procedure. Avoid facial waxing, use of depilatory creams, electrolysis, IPL or any other laser procedure for at least two weeks after your treatment. Apply sunscreen regularly and apply mineral make up.

SKIN NEEDLING (Collagen Induction Therapy) or Meso Therapy

 Skin Needling uses micro needles on a medical grade pen that is moved over the skin to create tiny, evenly-spaced punctures on the skin. These micro-punctures go through the skin with minimal damage to the upper epidermal layer, but creates a microscopic, generally painless injury to the deeper dermal layer. Skin needling or Meso Therapy is best delivered in a course of 4 to 6 sessions. A minimum of 4-6 sessions is required for skin rejuvenation and 6-8 sessions for pitted acne scarring however more may be needed for more sun damaged and aggressively scarred skins.

AFTERCARE

Don't apply any kind of makeup for at least 24 hours to 48 hours after the procedure as it's important to allow your skin barrier to heal over. Using make up brushes canirritate the open skin, and if there's any bacteria on the brushes you run the risk of developing a skin infection. Use of Mineral Make up is strongly recommended.

Always wear sunscreen. Do not go swimming for at least 72 hours post-treatment. Do not exercise or participate in strenuous activity for the first 72 hours post-treatment. Sweating and gym environments in general are harmful and filled with bacteria, which may cause adverse reactions in your skin. Change your pillow cover daily for 3 days to avoid any contact with bacteria.

PREPARATION for NEEDLING

You will be asked to discontinue use of Retin A, Retinols, Vitamin A creams and other topic medications for 3-5 days before your micro needling treatment. It is required that you wear a sunscreen daily and use the appropriate home care topical products. Examples are Urban Skin Rx Even Tone Cream or Retinol Pads.

Dermaplaning is a non invasive skin procedure to exfoliate the dead skin cells along with the peach fuzz (facial hair). I this procedure is done with a special instrument called surgical blade by the therapist. By removing the top layer off dead skin cells and vellus hair, newer and younger skin cells are revealed. It is a painless and safe procedure.
